Former Hearts of Oak captain Kofi Agbesimah is optimistic about succeeding at FC Samartex after a tenure with the Phobians marked by controversy.

The former Bechem United defender signed a two-year deal with the Ghana Premier League champions last week. He decided to leave Hearts of Oak after just one season.

Speaking after the transfer, the 28-year-old said he faced and overcame similar challenges at Hearts of Oak, and he is confident that his time at Samartex will be successful.

"When I first joined Bofoakwa Tano as a young player, I encountered similar challenges to those I faced before joining Bechem United. However, I didn't give up; I braved the odds, and the rest is history," Agbesimah said, as quoted by Sabastian Hayfron on Facebook.

“The truth is that tough times never last, but tough people do.”

Agbesimah’s move to FC Samartex is significant as the Samreboi-based side prepares for their debut CAF Champions League campaign following their Ghana Premier League triumph.
