Transfer Talk: May & June

JUNE

  • Sunderland are reportedly in talks for Inter youngsters Alfred Duncan and Ibrahima Mbaye. This is not the first time that Paolo Di Canio’s side have been linked with Duncan, a 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder. He spent the last six months on loan at Livorno in Serie B and helped them to promotion via the play-offs. It is rumoured Black Cats representatives were in Italy on Friday to discuss the players with Inter. (Football Italia)

  • Evans Nyarko has signed for German giants Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old joins Bundesliga II side Fortuna Dusseldorf where he played for two seasons. The midfielder will start off his career with the Borussia Dortmund II side who play in the third-tier league of German football. Nyarko will be assessed there by the coaching staff before climbing up the ladder to the Bundesliga side.

  • 18-year-old defensive midfielder Daniel Amartey from Djurgardens is being courted by Schale & Kaiserslautern


  • Ghana U20 winger Jacob Apau has joined Armenian champions Shirak FC on a season-long loan deal. The Medeama FC player will leave Accra on Thursday to begin his spell with the Gyumri-based side..

  • Asante Kotoko midfielder Yahaya Mohammed will undergo a medical at Mamelodi Sundowns in a massive transfer coup

  • English Premier league side, Swansea are interested in signing Mubarak Wakaso. The Welsh club are prepared to splash five million euros on the midfielder. Swansea is not the only club to bid for the Ghanaian. Apart from mild interest from Juventus, Wigan also has also been in contact with his current club Espanyol. (as.com)

  • June 22 -- Isaac Cofie has joined Italian top-flight side Genoa. The 21-year-old sealed the deal on Friday after weeks of negotiations with his club Chievo Verona. Genoa splashed 3 million Euros. Chievo had been locked in negotiations with Genoa over the long-term future of the 21-year-old. However with all terms agreed to the satisfaction of both sides, the Black Stars midfielder will play for Genoa next term. (GHANAsoccernet)

  • Quincy Owusu Abeyie may be on his way to join Spanish side Levante as talks between his club Panathinaikos and The Frogs are at an advanced stage. The club-trotting player, who has featured for Arsenal, Birmingham, Cardiff City, Portsmouth and Al Sadd, has also seen his signature at Malaga and Celta Vigo all on loan.(Voetball International)

  • German Side, Schalke 04, is in negotiations with bundesliga 2 side Vfl Bochum about talented Goretzka and have offered Anthony Annan & Sergio Escudero in exchange.   • Alhassan Wakaso, junior brother of Black Stars winger Mubarak Wakaso, has joined Portuguese top-tier side Rio Ave on a three-year deal. He moves from Liga de Honra side Portimonense.

  • Alfred Duncan, Inter's 20-year-old midfielder, is the subject of interest from the Black Cats, and they are willing to offer an improvement on their opening £5 million bid. (Journal Live)

  • Juventus renewed co-ownership agreements with Genoa for forward Boakye-Yiadom, who spent this season on loan at Sassuolo. The Turin giants have now sold Yussie Raman Chibsah outright to Parma.

  • Kwadwo Asamoah now totally belongs to Juventus. The Turin giants signed a 50 per cent share for the midfielder last summer from the Stadio Friuli outfit
    Asamoah impressed in a left wing-back role and he has today been signed outright at a cost of €9m. The international’s contract in Turin ends in 2017.

  • June 19 -- Liverpool have made a £5million bid for Porto forward Christian Atsu and hope to sign him. Atsu made 25 appearances for the Portuguese champions last season, as well as turning out for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations.(MailOnline)

  • June 17 --Espanyol are waiting on any concrete offers for midfielder Wakaso Mubarak. The Barcelona club is heavily in debt and desperate to reduce their wage bill before the start of the 2012-13 campaign. The Ghanaian international has already expressed an interest in trying his luck in either England or Italy, with Everton, Inter and Juventus all having had him watched last term.(Football Espana)

  • Juventus and Parma have renewed their joint ownership of Yussif Chibsah, last year on loan at Sassuolo. The 20-year-old midfielder will play for Chievo next season.

  • Italian Serie A side Udinese could make a surprise move for Sulley Sariki Muniru, the younger brother of Sulley Muntari from Romanian giants CFR Cluj. The Stadio Fruili outfit will make an official bid of 700,000 Euros

  • Former Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey has signed a three-year deal with UAE Pro League side Al Dhafra.

  • June 15 -- Wigan Athletic have made a three million euro offer to Espanyol to sign Mubarak Wakaso, can confirm.(Ghanasoccernet)

  • June 14 --Chelsea are reportedly interested in AC Milan attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.(Football Italia)
  • June 13 -- Espanyol has reported that Mubarak Wakaso is likely to join Barcelona before the transfer window closes. Although he is regarded as a key first-team player by Espanyol, the Catalan club are reportedly willing to listen to offers in the region of $30m.(Todomercadoweb)

  • June 12 -- English Premier League side Sunderland have made a £5 million offer to Inter Milan to sign Ghana U20 star Alfred Duncan. The offer has been rejected with Inter seeing the player as an important part of their own future.

  • Italian Serie A side Genoa will make an official bid for Parma and Juventus midfielder Yussif Chibsah Raman who spent the just ended season on loan at Sassuolo. The 20-year-old enforcer was in fine form playing a total of 28 games for the Stadio Alberto Braglia outfit scoring twice which has caught the eyes of several clubs in the Serie A including Udinese and Sampdoria


  • A swap deal could materialise this summer as Arsenal manager continues to chase Marseille’s winger Andre Ayew whilst OM’s sporting director Jose Anigo also eyes Gervinho.

  • South African side Orlando Pirates are likely to sign Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda. Pirates have reportedly made a formal offer to Dauda’s club AshantiGold, and it is believed that the club CEO Kudjo Fianoo is willing to let Dauda sign with the Buccaneers after five seasons at the Ghana Premier League club. The deal to sign Dauda is reportedly worth $500,000.
    Pirates are also believed to be after AshantiGold striker Yakubu Mohammed, but the negotiations for a possible transfer will only begin at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.

  • June 7 -- Italian Serie A side Udinese have all but completed a deal for youth striker Ebenezer Assifuah before the World Youth Championship in Turkey.

  • Ghana U-20 wing back Ebenezer Ofori is set to join French side Bastia. The player will complete a move to the French Ligue 1 side after the World Youth Championship in Turkey, his club New Edubiase’s President has claimed.

  • June 5 -- Parma, Sampdoria have recently been mentioned to be keeping an eye on Richmond Boakye-Yiadom but the fresh reports emanating from England suggests Stoke City have set sights on striker too
  • RSC Anderlecht are the latest club to table an offer to Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo.

  • June 4 -- Italian side Chievo Verona have joined Genoa in the race to sign Amidu Salifu. The 21-year-old who is owned by Fiorentina, but was on loan at Sicily-based club Catania for 2012-13 season
  • Tunisian clubs CS Sfaxien and CA Bizertin are interested in Ashgold's. Mohammed Yakubu. Al Ahly of Egypt showed interest in the striker last summer.

  • June 3 -- Serie A side Bologna will launch a bid to sign Ghana U20 star midfielder Alfred Duncan from Inter Milan, according to reports in the Italian press.

  • English Premier League debutants Cardiff City are reported to be leading the race to notch up Ghana winger Albert Adomah from Bristol City. The 25-year-old is in hunt for a new club after his side Bristol City where relegated from the championship to the League One.

  • Sudanese giants, El Merreikh Sporting Club have added Ghana U-20 World Cup winning squad member Kassenu Ghandy to their ranks, Footy-Ghana.com has confirmed.

  • May 31 -- Christian Atsu moves closer to a proposed move to the Premier League after rejecting a new deal at Porto. The Ghana international midfielder has been involved in a contract dispute with the Portuguese club for months. The 21-year-old refuses to sign a new deal because Porto insist on a €30 million [£24m] release clause. Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal have all been linked with the player in the past, who says it is his dream to play in England.
  • SuperSport United midfielder cum central defender Edwin Gyimah has extended his stay at the club until 2017.
  • May 29 --Sampdoria have intensified their pursuit of Joseph Alfred Duncan. The 19-year-old is expected to return to parent club Inter Milan after the end of the competition.
  • Juventus have made an official €7m bid to sign midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, according to reports in the Italian press. The Ghana international is being chased by a host of clubs including Inter Milan and Villareal
  • AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has become the latest high-profile player linked with a summer move to big-spending Monaco. The versatile Ghanaian is valued at around £12m by Milan, but Monaco are only willing to spend around £10m to sign the 26-year-old, according to Calciomercato.com.

Done Deal

  • Dnipro midfielder Derek Boateng joined Fulham on free transfer. The Fulham manager Martin Jol has been a long-time admirer of the Ghana international and has attempted to bring him in on several occasions. Boateng's transfer had to be put on ice previously due to contract disputes with his Ukrainian club, but a deal for the 30-year-old has finally completed his move from Dnipro.
