- Chelsea have signed winger Christian Atsu for £3.5million from Porto and and sent him packing on a season-long loan to Vitesse Arnhem. Atsu, 21, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Blues but will not be seen
- Jordan Ayew could end up at Bastia on loan on transfer deadline day. The Olympique Marseille striker is a transfer target of the French Ligue 1 outfit as he lacks playing time at the Stade Velodrome side. According to Telefoot, both teams are in talks for a possible season-long loan deal for the 21-year-old Ghanaian after Bastia successfully signed Serbian winger Milos Krasic from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
- Ghana U20 midfielder Michael Anaba has signed a four-year contract with promoted Spanish La Liga side Elche. The Asante Kotoko player impressed after a two-week trial session in Alicante. Elche has signed compatriot Richmond Boakye-Yiadom Boakye on loan from Juventus. (MTNFootball.com )
- July 29 --- Chelsea have agreed a £3.5m fee for Christian Atsu, who flew into London last night to discuss terms. The 21-year-old is set to be loaned straight back to the Portuguese club for the season.
- July 28 -- West Brom's transfer policy has changed direction slightly with reports that a loan for Marseille's Jordan Ayew will be put on hold after an injury to goalkeeper Ben Foster. Yesterday it emerged that West Brom's number one goalkeeper Foster will be ruled out for up to three months with a foot injury.
Manager Steve Clarke will be putting talks over Ayew on the backburner for some time. Jordan has been subject to the Baggies' interest at the same time as Newcastle United and Liverpool were setting their sights on his brother Andre. (L'Equipe) - Mubarak Wakaso is set to join Russian side Rubin Kazan from Espanyol for a reported fee of €6m, the Spanish club confirmed on Wednesday.
"Espanyol and Rubin Kazan have reached an agreement on Wednesday for the transfer of Mubarak Wakaso to the Russian team, as soon as he has passed a medical with his new club," a statement on the Espanyol website said.
The 23-year-old only joined the Catalans from Villarreal last summer and his only season with Los Pericos was dogged by disciplinary problems as he was sent-off twice and picked up a further 13 bookings. Wakaso apologised to everyone involved at the club for having pushed the move through.
"I want to say sorry to the club, the players and the fans because I have asked to leave although they didn't want me to," he told Espanyol TV.
"It was the right opportunity for my future." - Chelsea are understood to be in advanced talks over a deal to bring Porto winger Christian Atsu to Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to land the 21-year-old before the end of the transfer window. Atsu is entering the final year of his contract with Porto and apparently a fee of around £3.5million will be enough to seal the deal for Chelsea.
- July 28 -- Newcastle have sent an initial offer of €8 million to Olympique de Marseille for André Ayew. This is below the acceptable threshold set by the direction of Marseille. Vincent Labrune has decided to start discussions from 12 million. The release clause of Andre Ayew is set at 18 million. (The Times)
- July 26 --- French Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne are still in the market looking for a striker following the departure of Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Dortmund and have set their eyes on Jordan Ayew. Stéphanois are ready to take the Ghanaian youngster on loan and will offer him enough playing time as their key man upfront.
Ayew has made only two appearances all from the bench this season for Olympique Marseille and with Ghana set to qualify for the 2014 World Cup he will need enough playing time to cement a place in the Black Stars.
English premiership side West Bromwich Albion have also penciled him as a target, but the son of Ghana football legend has always maintained that he is happy and wants to stay at the Stade Velodrome. - Ghana youth international Thomas Teye Partey has joined la Segunda side Real Mallorca on a year long loan deal from Atlético Madrid. Los Colchoneros have farmed out the 19-year-old central midfielder to Mallorca in a bid to help him gain more first team experience.

- Francis Narh and Derek Mensah have completed their move to Tunisian side Club Africain. The Tema Youth duo signed the dotted lines on Thursday on a three-year deal after passing a mandatory medical. The duo will join compatriot Seidu Salifu, who has signed a four-year deal for the side.

- July 20 -- Kingsley Boateng has completed his move from Milan to Catania, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit have announced. The 19-year-old has joined the Sicilian club on loan for the 2013-14 season. Catania will have the option to buy a 50 per cent stake in his contract next summer. Boateng, a forward, was born in Ghana but he has appeared for the Italian national side at youth team level.

- Aug 10 -- THE chase for Porto's Christian Atsu looks set to intensify with both Tottenham and Everton preparing to step up their interest in the Ghana international. Atsu's contract expires next summer, when he can leave on a free transfer, and it is thought that several English clubs had hoped to wait until January to sign the 21-year-old to a pre-contract agreement. As a result, Porto are keen to sell Atsu now rather than risk losing him for nothing in at the season's end.
