Tunisian referee to officiate Ghana-Uganda clash

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has named Tunisian Med Said Kordi as the center referee to handle Ghana’s 2015 AFCON qualifier against Uganda next weekend, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 39-year-old will be flanked by countrymen Anouar Hmila and Moheen Ben Salem as assistant referees with Slim Jedidi confirmed for the fourth official role.

Med Said is not strange to Ghana games as he handled Ghana’s 1-0 loss against Zambia in Lusaka during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June 2012.

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has launched a scathing attack on the Tunisian for Ghana’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier defeat to the Chipolopolos for what was largely seen an unfair officiating.

Controversial Nigerian official Linus Mba has also been named as the match Commissioner for the crunch game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after FIFA lifted their ban on him.
