Twum-Barimah Donates Kits To Okwawu

The Director of Midwest Company Limited, representative of Armittage Shanks (UK), Mr Mike Twum-Barimah, has donated football kits and cash worth ?75 million to Okwawu United Football Club.

The items consist of 30 pairs of boots, a set of hoses and two sets of jerseys in the club colours totalling ?55 million and a cheque for ?20 million.

Mr. Barimah, a former chairman of the club, noted that the gesture is to honour the plea from the current Board Chairman, Dr Felix K. Frimpong, to assist the players to deliver good results.

He said it is his desire to emulate the good works of his brother, Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo (Sikkens) to the club and promised to do his best to assist the club to the best of his ability.

According to Mr Twum-Barimah, the gesture was made possible with assistance from SM Export of Germany and called on the good people of Kwahu to contribute meaningfully towards the development of the club.

Mr Twum-Barimah, promised more of such donations in future, adding that it is his dream to ensure that the club becomes one of the greatest in the country.

Dr Felix K. Frimpong, the board chairman, thanked Mr Twum-Barimah for the items and called on all footbal- loving people to contribute their quota to assist the club.

He said the era when supporters saw the running of clubs as the sole responsibility of chairmen is gone, saying, "that idea should be put behind us to enable us to work effectively to achieve our objectives."

The captain of the club, Nii Darko Larbi, who received the items on behalf of his colleagues, thanked Mr Twum-Barimah for his kind gesture and promised to deliver good results for the club.

Present at the ceremony were Mr Kwame Ofosu Bamfo (Sikkens), the immediate past Board Chairman of Okwawu United, Mr Oduro Nyarko, secretary of the club and some officials of Mid-West Company.
