“We know how dangerous the Egyptians can be but I am highly confident in my boys’ ability to deliver in such difficult matches”, Tanko said in a pre-match press conference ahead of Monday's game.

He added, “We know that the task ahead is not going to be an easy one for us, especially playing with the supporters behind their team but as I said I am very confident in my team and I believe they will play without fear to make every Ghanaian proud”.

Evans Mensah who was also present at the pre-match conference assured Ghanaians of their best performance when they face the Egyptians on Monday.

"We have great ambition and that’s to play in the Olympics. We respect Egypt and we know it is a tough game but we will give our best."
