Ghana’s Thomas Partey, Rashid Sumaila, Abdul Baba Rahman, Kasim Nuhu and Kwadwo Asamoah will all be facing tough opponents at the group stage of the UEFA Champions League with their respective Clubs.
The quintet are the only Ghanaians to play in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Partey and his Atletico Madrid side have been drawn in group A together with Borussia Dortmund, AS Monaco and Club Brugge.
Rashid Sumaila who will be playing in the Champions League for the first time will have to help his Red Star Belgrade side manage what is believed to be the group of death having been paired with last season’s finalist Liverpool, PSG and Napoli.
Schalke O4 who will feature Ghana’s Abdul Baba Rahman are in the same group with FC Porto, Galatasery and Lokomotiv Moskva.
Kasim Nuhu and his team Hoffienhiem faces an uphill task with Manchester City, Olympique Lyon and Shakhter Donetsk.
Kwadwo Asamoah who played in the Champions League with Juventus last season is expected to help his new Club Inter Milan make it out of a group which has the likes of former Champions Barcelona, PSV and Tottenham Hotspurs.
