The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), won double gold in Table Tennis, both men and women’s categories at the on-going Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games underway at the Paa Joe Stadium, Kumasi.
With this, UEW has climbed to the top of the medal table, followed by University of Cape Coast (UCC, with one silver and a bronze, while University of Ghana (UG) is in the third position with silver.
In the athletics competition, UCC has also claimed double gold, winning the 1,500 metre race - both men and women’s categories.
UEW came second, collecting silver and bronze, with the UG and University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) taking silver and bronze each.
By these records, the UEW and UCC have put themselves in strategic positions to winning the competition.
The participants are competing for honours in football, athletics, badminton, tennis and table tennis.
