Dadease Agricultural SHS wins soccer championship

Kumasi, June 9, GNA - Dadease Agricultural Senior High school (SHS) in the Sekyere-East District played a determined game to thrash Garden City SHS 4-0 in the final match of this year's Ashanti Regional Inter-School Girls' Soccer Championship at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. The match began on an aggressive note with Dadease attacking in droves and it came as no surprise when Mary Adobea put them ahead after 10 minutes and made it two five minutes later with both goals having a touch of class. Helena Obeng also hit a brace for Dadease SHS with the third and fourth goals in the 50th and 55th minutes to send their supporters into wild jubilation.

Dadease SHS received a trophy donated by the Schools and Colleges Sports Federation, organizers of the event for their achievement. On their way to the finals, Dadease SHS defeated Kumasi Girls SHS 1-0 with Garden City accounting for Saint Monica's SHS with another 1-0 victory. Kumasi Girls SHS pipped Saint Monica's 1-0 in the third place match. Adobea won the Golden Boot award for scoring nine goals whilst Naomi Animah also of Dadease won the Golden Ball. 32 schools participated in the Regional event. 09 June 10
