The University community on Saturday, March 16, drifted from their usual busy schedules to participate in the 2nd Vice-Chancellor’s Special Endurance Health Walk which took off from the Ayi-Mensah Police Station to the Peduase presidential Lodge School Park in the Eastern region and back to Ayi-Mensah.

The two-hour endurance walk was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, and his Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Barnor, Deans and Directors, Senior Members, Senior and Junior staff as well as students of the University.

In a brief address to participants, Prof Okoe Amartey underscored the significance of such activities to the total well being of the individual and called on the university community to make their health a priority. He also called for unity and the spirit of forgiveness among members in order to push the agenda of the University forward.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged the students to take advantage of the various professional programmes being offered by the University and be the best they can be in all that they do.

”Be the best you can be in all that you do. Your conducts in and outside school should reflect the values, culture and professional training we’ve given you,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prof Barnor emerged the star personality of the entire exercise as he proved to all and sundry that one’s body size does not matter when stamina is at work. The Provost ‘shocked’ many with his stock of energy up-the-hills and physical fortitude.

The highest point of the day, perhaps, was when the Vice-Chancellor and Provost challenged one another in a dance battle which drew loud cheers from the participants.
