Umbro Sportswear launched in Ghana

Accra, Aug. 17, GNA - Sportsmen and women in the country have been urged to be self-disciplined to ensure that Ghana sports moves forward and makes the needed impact.

Nana Sam Brew Butler, former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) made the call in Accra on Tuesday at the launch of Umbro, a United Kingdom (UK) sportswear in Ghana. RICS Consult Limited, sole distributing agents of the British Company in Ghana exhibited the company's products that included jerseys, boots, pants and hose among others.

Nana Butler said discipline plays a vital role in all aspects of life and that without it no association can succeed.

He said Ghana is on the threshold of making her first appearance at the World Cup and that it is important that players of the Black Stars instil in themselves a sense of discipline to ensure Ghana's total qualification.

Nana Butler expressed the hope that the entry of Umbro into the Ghanaian market would motivate the sportsmen and women to give of their best.

Nana Adwoa Kwegyir-Aggrey, General Manager of RICS Consult Limited said the introduction of Umbro Sportswear into the country will offer clubs and individuals the unique opportunity to adopt merchandising as a major club management platform for stabilizing and maximizing club's income.

She called on corporate bodies, institutions, football clubs, keep-fit clubs and individuals to patronise the company's products. 17 Aug 05
