The news editor of GHone Tv, Nana Aba Anamoah has blasted the decision of some players not to play for the Ghanaian national team at some points as “unapologetically shameless” on their part.

She expressed disgust as to how foreign-based players are called to play for the national team even though in most cases, their performances cannot be compared to some local players.

She hinted that the reason behind the near collapse of Ghana football can be attributed to the fact that the team has always had a squad to play. Thus a group of players who feel they will make the call up anytime even if they are not performing.

According to her, these foreign-based players only come to ride on fans, good looks and foreign accents which contribute zero efforts in the success of the team and it was about time coaches considered dropping them to go in for local players in the Ghanaian League.

The staunch Manchester united Fan added the painful aspect of all of this was that, the foreign based players do not show Ghanaians any respect when they earn call-ups into the national team that tax payers’ money are used to pay them. According to her, it was absurd for players who take salary to tell Ghanaians after a game that, the passion to play was not there.

Speaking on Agoo Tv’s Dwidwamu Sports program, Nana Aba said it had never happened anywhere that players will play a game and at a post-match interview tell supporters that the desire to win was not there.

“It has never happened that players after a match will say they had no desire or passion to play. The problem with these guys is, they are shameless and they are unapologetic about their shameless behavior”- she lamented

She has however called on officials of the Ghana football Association and the blackstars management team to consider inviting local players from clubs like Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have the passion to win something for the country and end the over 30 years drought of trophy for the country.
