Accra, Jan 10, GNA - Randy Abbey, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has emphasized on the need for Ghanaians to unite for the success of the Black Stars.
"It is crucial for everyone to accept early enough that no criticism can change any of the 23 players that will be selected today. "As long as we can accept that, we will find a common reason to propel the team to lift the trophy we so much desire for on February 10." Mr Abbey said it is vital that the players arrive in Ghana on January 15 believing that whoever amongst them was selected for the final 23 has enough quality to live and keep the country's dream of equaling Egypt's fifth Nations Cup title.
Abbey told GNA Sports it is paramount that the atmosphere created before the arrival of the players will be one capable of soaring their spirit for the competition.
Coach Claude Le Roy is expected to name his final 23 man squad for the competition in a few hours time.
Ghana is pitted alongside Guinea, Namibia and Morocco in Group A that is housed in the national capital, Accra. The host will open the tournament with a game against Guinea at the refurbished Ohene Djan Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 20. 09 Jan. 08
