Unity games: Okocha, Gallas, Campbell arrive June 7

A galaxy of football Stars selected to play in this month’s Vodafone Unity Games will arrive in Accra on June 7.

They will be met on arrival by Stephen Appiah, former Black Stars captain who is now a peace Ambassador.

The Vodafone Unity match is an event spearheaded by Appiah and organized by Primeval Media.

Former Arsenal stars William Gallas and Sol Campbell lead the group who are billed to play in two separate games scheduled for the Kumasi and Accra Sports stadia on June 8 and 11 respectively.

The other superstars include Nigerian legends Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and Yakubu Ayigbeni. Ghanaian football fans will also get the opportunity to watch Alexandre Song of Arsenal and Barcelona fame.

Manchester United icon Dwight York and former Portugal International Simao Sabrosa are all expected to touch down in Ghana for the game.

These Stars will lock horns with Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Wednesday June 8 whilst the second game comes off in Accra against the Black Stars on June 11.

The organizers have also put a Unity concert together.

The Night dubbed Vodafone Unity Concert will take place at the National Theatre in Accra.

Artistes on the bill include Shatta Wale, Gasmilla, Efya and VVIP.
