Ghana defender Gideon Baah scored from a delightful glancing header to open the scoring for New York Red Bulls in a 2-1 slender loss against Real Salt Lake in the American Major League Soccer on Wednesday night.

The former Asante Kotoko defender steered home the opening goal for the Bulls as early as the 7th minute.

Baah, 24, overpowered young defender Justen Glad inside the Lake box and directed a Sean Davies corner-kick with great stead to put Jesse Marsch's men ahead.

His international team-mate Lloyd Sam joined him on the touchline to celebrate the goal.

The Bulls finished the game with ten men as defender Aurelien Collin was marched off late in the game.

28-year-old Armenian Yura Movsisyan replied for Lake in 68 minutes when he also headed home to equalise for the home.

Jordan Allen put the home side ahead late in the game and eventually won the tie for the home side.

Baah was starting just his 4th game of the season. He joined the New York-based side from Finnish side HJK Helsinki.
