Liverpool are chasing Athletic Bilbao forward Iñaki Williams, as they look to add quality to their expensive but inconsistent forward line.

?The Guardian report that the Reds will face competition from inside La Liga if they go in for the talented youngster, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both said to be keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old.

There is a release clause in his contract of €20m, (around £15.3m), and Real and Atletico know that they may have to move quickly if they're to secure the signing - both facing transfer bans from the end of the current window until the summer of 2017, although those may be reduced or cancelled on appeal.

The Bilbao academy product has had a strong season thus far operating almost exclusively from the right wing, where he's scored ten goals in all competitions this season - including a pair in the Europa League, where he scored a brace in a win over Partizan Belgrade.

He's more than just a winger though, featuring up front for Spain's Under-21 side and scoring in his first competitive match - in a comfortable win over Georgia in November - something Jurgen Klopp is sure to appreciate as he looks for genuine goalscoring support up front, with Christian Benteke playing inconsistently and Daniel Sturridge often injured.

Williams came to the attention of a number of fans back in November when his Bilbao team faced Espanyol, showcasing his skills perfectly with a sublime first touch which took the ball over the defenders around him, allowing him to race on and volley home to give his side the lead.
