Cape Coast, Jan. 14,GNA - Valco Hall bagged 130 points to lift the championship trophy of the 42nd edition of the University of Cape Coast(UCC) athletic competition held at the University's sports grounds on Saturday. Oguaa Hall took the second position with 103 points, Apewosika Hall came third with 66 points while Amamoma Hall was third with 53 points and Kwame Nkrumah Hall placing 5th with 51 points while GRASAG Hall followed with nine points. In the Women's division, Oguaa Hall came first with 78 points followed by Kwame Nkrumah Hall at the second position with 77 points while Valco Hall placed third with 73
points, Adehye Hall was fourth with 69 points and was followed by Apewosika Hall with 43 points.
Emmanuel Aggrey of Oguaa Hall was adjudged the best athlete in the Men's division after he came first in the Triple Jump, Long Jump and placed third in the 200 meters race. Ms Lavisa Armstrong of Adehye Hall was declared the best athlete in the Women's division for coming first in the 500 and 1500 meters races and was third in the High Jump and also led her Hall's quartet team to place third in the
4x400 meter relay. Dr Joseph Ogah, Chairman of the Spots and Recreation
Committee of UCC congratulated the athletes for their
performance and comportment and encouraged them to train
harder to qualify for selection into the tem for the World
University Games in China in August 2011.
