VfB Stuttgart has announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian youngster Justin Diehl, bolstering their squad for the upcoming season.
The left winger, who previously played for the relegated FC Köln, has joined the Swabians on a free transfer and signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Diehl made seven appearances for FC Köln in the Bundesliga this season.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, the sporting director of VfB Stuttgart, expressed his excitement about the new signing. He stated that Diehl is one of the most promising players in his position in Germany. Wohlgemuth highlighted Diehl's Bundesliga experience from the last season and emphasized the club's commitment to nurturing and developing his talents.
After a challenging period in Cologne, which included a suspension, Diehl is eager to start a new chapter with VfB Stuttgart.
The youngster shared his enthusiasm for the move, revealing that the conversations with the club's management convinced him that VfB was the ideal choice. Diehl is now looking forward to joining his new teammates for preseason training.
