Black Stars attacker, Jordan Ayew believes Aston Villa can still maintain their premier league status despite their dreadful start to the season. The former Lorient man remained confident of steering Remi Garde’s side out of their current predicament at the end of the current campaign. The 23-year-old rejuvenated forward racked in three goals for the ailing premier league side after an indifferent start to English football.

Jordan rallied his teammates to develop strong self-belief as a team if they are to start picking points in the top flight. He rues the missed chances in their league matches. The Black Stars utility man called on the supporters of the beleaguered club to stay united and help the team to restore that missing confidence.

“It is normal for confidence to be a bit low. We just had to keep working hard and that will change. We believe we can do it, but we need a little bit of luck on our side.

“We created so many chances against Watford but didn’t score as many. I had a chance where I could have scored, but this is football”, Jordan Ayew told Avfc.com

“My message to the fans is to continue supporting us, we need them. We really need them. I still believe we can stay in the premier league, but they need to continue supporting us and I promise them things will change”, he added.

Jordan steered Lorient out of the drop in the latter stages of the 2014/15 European season to earn a switch to London in a big-money move. The tricky forward seemed to have found his feet after initially struggling to adapt to the physical nature of the premiership. Aston Villa has managed a paltry 5 points from the opening 14 league matches after 13 matches without a win.
