Vipers pip Hasaacas in a friendly match

Cape Coast, Mar 7, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers, Premier League campaigners on Sunday played a spectacular game to beat Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 in a friendly match at the Robert Mensah sports stadium at Cape Coast.

The match formed part of the preparations being made by the Sekondi lads towards their play-off match.

Parading players that included Eduhene, Enu, Ellis and Annan, Hasaacas dominated the greater part of the first half, forcing Vipers to play in their own half and on several occasions came close to scoring but Vipers keeper, Mohammed Iddrisu worked over time to repulse their attempts at finding the net.

On resumption of the second half, Vipers who found the going tough for them brought on John Bentil for outside left Frank Mensah, who fared badly and this change enabled them to reverse the trend of the game. Their efforts were rewarded when mid-fielder, Walter Mensah scored the match opener through a penalty kick that was awarded them in the 85th minute.

The visitors who were down by a goal, then retuned the attack and kept Vipers goal area 'boiling', but try as they did they failed to get the much needed equaliser till the referee's whistle for the end of proceedings.
