Head coach of WAFA, Prosper Narteh has slammed referee Maxwell Owusu for failing to protect his players in their home defeat against Liberty Professional.

Liberty Professional defeated WAFA by 2-1 at Sogakope in the match day six of the Ghana Premier.

Elvis Kyei Baffour gave the scientific soccer lads the lead from the spot, but Sampson Agyapong’s left footed strike in 70th minute looked to have shared the spoils.

But a late strike from former WAFA midfielder Mubarak Alhassan condemned the Sogakope lads to thier first home defeat since 2015.

Speaking to the media the game, the coach slammed the referee for failing to protect his players during the game.

“If you have referees who don’t protect players on the field some of these things will happen.”

This is the worse officiating I have seen in this season’s Premier League, the referee wasn’t up to task.”

”Very surprising calls and when you do that 16 and 17 year olds, you demoralize them on the field.”

”To me the boys are there but the referees need to protect them when the call falls within the laws of the game,I mean the referee was a total disappointment” He added.
