Former Hearts of Oak board Secretary Ernest Thompson has tipped his beloved club Accra Hearts of Oak to topple league leaders WAFA for the league title.
The Rainbow club have failed to annex the domestic league title in the last nine years, a development which is a huge worry to the followers of the club.
Hearts currently sit third on the league log with 30 points after honouring 18 matches in the league. The former SSNIT boss is highly confident Hearts put in a strong fight to win the league for the first time in almost a decade.
“Accra Hearts of Oak is like the military, you don’t retire, once a phobia, always a phobia,” Thompson told Starr FM.
“We [Hearts of Oak] are coming back on track and I believe that with time we will get to top. Meanwhile we’ve given WAFA and the others clubs a little bit of chance to guard the land, we will soon come and occupy it.”
WAFA leads the Ghana Premier League table with 36 points and are on course to win their first maiden league title in the club’s history.
