Black Queens of Ghana head coach Mercy Quarcoo Tagoe, has dropped five players from her 30-member squad as they prepare for the upcoming West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Women Zone B Competition.
Kumasi Sports Academy duo Horlali Attivor, El-Shaddai Acheampong, Joyce Antwiwaa Fenteng from Ashtown Ladies, Fabulous Ladies’ Rabi Musa and Samira Abdul-Rahman, who plays for Pearlpia Ladies, were the players left out of the squad for the tournament.
The 45-year-old gaffer is expected to drop four more players from the team to arrive at her 21-member squad for the tourney, which begins from May 8-18.
Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside with Mali, Nigeria, and Guinea, whilst the host nation Cote d’Ivoire is scheduled to play in Group A, alongside Benin and Senegal.
She made history by winning the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s tournament in 2018 after beating hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in the final.
