Wa All Stars centre back Ismail Ganiu has fired a verbal to Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of their midweek clash at the Baba Yara stadium.

The robust defender powered home a thumping header in a nervy 1-0 win for the leaders at home Berekum Chelsea and has already availed himself for more scoring duties when they take on Kotoko.

The Ghana youth international is notes for his athletic nature at the heart of defence but his dead ball experteesm has added a new dimension to his game.

The former Wa Anokye Stars centre back predicted a stern opposition from their Wednesday opponents but was bullish of his sides chances.

“my main duty is not scoring but to contain attackers and protect my keeper. My greatest chances of finding the back of the net surely comes from the dead balls and corner kicks , the reason why I have developed interest in them. I have already scored against Kotoko before and to get another goal in Kumasi is not impossible “, Ganiu told sports crusader.

The rock solid defender also played down the threat from the Reds ahead of their blockbuster clash in midweek.
