Wakaso credits Celtic manager for fine form

Ghana winger Mubarak Wakaso credits Celtic manager Ronny Deila for his improved form.

The 24-year-old is on rediscovering mission since he joined the Scottish giants on- loan from Russian side Rubin Kazan.

The Ghanaian international set up the opening goal for the Black Stars in their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo on Wednesday before taking his chance in the 27th minute of the match.

Wakaso was a full 40 yards out when he turned on the ball, looked up and unleashed an unstoppable drive to cap an incredible international break in their 3-1 win over the Hawks.

The former Espanyol man says Ronny Deila has given him fresh confidence.

“I will always think my Celtic coach for giving me the chance, people thought that I can’t make it after a difficult spell in Russia, but now, we can all see the results.”

“The coach believed in me and he gave me that opportunity, so for now, if I’m doing well, I just want to thank him for the faith he showed in me,” he said.

Wakaso has been a key figure for Celtic this season and will continue to play a part in their title campaign.
