Waris in talks with Valenciennes

Spartak Moscow striker Abdul Majeed Waris could be heading to French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes before the January transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old is in talks with the relegation-threatened club as they hunt for a goal poacher to revive their hopes in the French top flight.

Goal Ghana understands the former BK Hacken forward is likely to agree a loan deal until the end of the season.

“Negotiations are almost closed and the player is yet to agree personal terms,” a source close to the player disclosed.

Valenciennes are eyeing the former Swedish Allsvenskan goal king as their second major signing after securing the signature of Algerian and Monaco defender Carl Medjani.

A move to the Ligue 1 outfit could provide the Black Stars striker more first team play time that will enhance his Ghana call-up for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
