Spain concluded their remarkable run at the 2024 Euros with a 2-1 triumph over England to secure their fourth European championship on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Spain were dominant throughout the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin but had to dig deep to secure the win in the dying moments of the game.

The first half was closely contested, with England displaying strong defensive skills to keep the score level.

After the break, Spain came out strong and took the game to England. They managed to take the lead just two minutes into the second half when Lamine Yamal assisted Nico Williams for the opening goal.

Williams, using his weaker foot, completed a fantastic passing sequence by Spain to put them in the lead.

Spain had the chance to seal the game through Yamal shortly after, but the Barcelona youngster saw two of his goal-bound shots saved by Jordan Pickford.

England equalized against the run of play with a quick counterattack, as Jude Bellingham set up substitute Cole Palmer for a superb finish from outside the box.

After drawing level, England appeared to be the favourites to win the game, but Spain woke up from their brief slump to secure the victory in the final moments.

Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella delivered a delightful cross that was perfectly connected by substitute Mikel Oyarzabal, who restored the lead for Spain with just four minutes remaining on the clock.

England nearly equalized again, but Marc Guehi's header was cleared off the line by Dani Olmo.

Spain ended the tournament winning all of their seven games without penalty shouts, including six in regulation time.
