Lamptey played as a right wing-back in the Black Stars' set-up. His speed was a valuable asset, providing an attacking outlet with his dynamic runs.

He created multiple opportunities with his cut-back crosses and synergized well with the forwards.

The former Chelsea man was the man of the match for many Ghanaians who were pleased with his performance.

The game was his first competitive fixture for the team since the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
