Ghana's talented boxer, John Laryea, defeated Nicaraguan fighter Alexander Mejia in his debut international match.
Known as 'The Expensive Boxer', Laryea secured a victory by unanimous decision at Caribe Royale Orlando in the United States.
The two-time WBO African Featherweight champion continued his undefeated streak with this impressive win over Mejia on November 1, 2024.
Laryea, who had not fought since December 2023, dominated the match from the start, even knocking down his opponent in the first round.
He maintained his strong performance throughout the fight, landing solid punches and preventing Mejia from gaining any advantage.
Based in James Town, Laryea now boasts a remarkable professional record of 15 fights, winning 14 with 11 by knockout and 1 draw.
Mejia, on the other hand, has accumulated 10 defeats in 29 fights, with 19 victories. He is currently ranked 269th globally.
