The win took Essuman's record to 20 wins and 1 defeat, while the knockout added to his tally of 7 KOs.

Meanwhile, Cooper recorded the first defeat of his career. He held a 10-0 record with 4 knockouts before the bout.

Essuman is a former British, Commonwealth, and IBF European kingpin. He lost all his belts following a defeat to Harry Scarff.

Cooper, 23, is a WBO European championship title holder ranked 10th.
