We Don't Fear Ghana - Nwosu

National U-23 assistant team coach Henry Nwosu, has disclosed that the ‘Dream Team IV, side hold no fear ahead of their Olympic qualifying tie against the Black Meteors of Ghana. U-23 head Coach Samson Siasia last week slammed the FA for his team’s poor preparation ahead the game in June, but his assistant has now assured there is little to fear.

Nwosu told Homebase Media that with the way preparations have stepped up in their Abuja camp they would be ready for the Ghanaians come June.

“It’s true the head coach had skepticism about our preparation for the game,” Nwosu said.

“But that was because the home based players were going in and out of the camp, and the foreign players weren’t due to arrive until the end of the month.

“Now the home based players are in camp and every where is bustling. Daddy (Bazuaye) came in on Sunday and we expect the other foreign players to start arriving from tomorrow (Tuesday),” he added.

Nwosu further hinged his optimism on the fact that with their full complement of foreign based players, the team would be stronger.

“We hope to get the full complement of invited foreign based players by this weekend.

“When they come and train with the home based players we have, the team would be ready.

“We would be ready for Ghana and there is no need to harbour any fear of the Ghanaians,” Nwosu said to Homebase Media

It would be recalled that the U-23 side of Ghana, the Black Meteors, stopped coach Samson Siasia and his lads from qualifying for the All Africa Games finals in Algeria.

Both sides rekindle their rivalry in the group stages of the Olympic qualifiers
