TP Mazembe Yaw Frimpong has spoken of his disappointment after his club’s elimination from the CAF Champions League by Algeria’s Entente Setif on Sunday.
He told Ghana that the entire team is down after a late goal conceded that put paid to the club’s chances of playing the final of the competition, adding that the head coach, Patrice Carteron, could not even speak to the players after the game.
“Our coach could not even speak to us after the game. He was very sad and so are we all. It is so unfortunate we have been eliminated.”
Frimpong noted that the aggregate defeat was painful, especially as he feels the team played well.
“We played very well and we should have qualified, but the goals we conceded were very unfortunate. It is very painful.”
Frimpong was one of four Ghanaians that played in the match, with Daniel Nii Adjei, who was on the score sheet, Solomon Asante and Gladson Awako also in action.
