We are focused on semi-finals – Appiah

Black Stars striker Kwesi Appiah, has said they are taking one match at a time hence the focused of the team now is the semi-final match against Equatorial Guinea and nothing else.

“We are not thinking about the finals now because we are not yet there. Before you play in the finals you have to beat your opponents in the semi-finals first.

“Sincerely, I don’t think it is prudent to talk about the finals now because we are not yet there. I don’t want to make choices as to who we want to play in the finals.” Appiah told the media when he was asked about his preference for the finals.

According to Appiah, though they expect much pressure from the game against Equatorial Guinea, it will compel them to deliver.

“Playing against the host nation will put a lot of pressure on us because the fans will be behind them.

“But this is good for us because it will bring the best out of us. We are much more focused for this game and are looking forward to win against the host nation”.

Appiah said that the Black Stars are also more experienced than their opponents and they will count on that to overcome the host nation.

He added that, they are not perturbed about the role of referees in the game against the Guineans.

“We have to do the most important thing in football by taking chances. It’s our game to win and we are not bothered by any referee. All we have to do is to put our destiny into our own hands and go all out”.
