Ghanaian legislature Sam George has lashed out at the Ghana FA for side-stepping him after the federation made the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence facility available for use as an isolation centre to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

George, who is the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency claims there was not enough consultation with his constituent before the FA went to town.

He feels aggrieved the Ghana Football Association kept him in the dark regarding their intended action and warns the safety of his people must be guaranteed.

He claims the FA held meetings with Ghana's longest serving sports minister Enoch Teye Mensah, who is also a former member of Parliament for the constituency without his knowledge.

”We agreed to have a meeting between the GFA and Ningo-Prampram Traditional Council to deliberate on the issue today. Later we were told another meeting was ongoing somewhere which had former MP E.T. Mensah and some selected chiefs present. The GFA presented six bottles of schnapps and Ghc 5,000 to them at that meeting for them to agree so they use the facility," he fumed on Happy FM

“We want the right thing to be done. As MP, I am interested in the safety of the people in the constituency. The facility does not have any proper security arrangement and what if those who are camped escape to the town.

"Prampram is not under lockdown. I am the representative of the people. You can't hold meetings without at my back. We don't have the security apparatus at our disposal and so they can use them.

“If they want to use the place then they should assure us of a proper security arrangement."
