We are sorry – GBA tells Ga Traditional Council

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has apologised to the Ga Traditional Council (GTC), for the confrontation that ensued between the two bodies ahead of the fight between Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko and Michael “Ayitey Powers” Okine at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A statement from the GBA, said “we are sincerely sorry for the misunderstanding between us and the Council.

”It was not a deliberate attempt to disrespect and challenge the authority of the GTC, because we sincerely acknowledged their role in the development of the sport in the country”.

The statement also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their diverse support ahead of the fight.

It said the ministry has been instrumental in the organisation of the fight through the provision of logistical and financial support.

The GBA also expressed appreciation to the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Green Grass Technology for their support.
