We are suffering, get us the contracts - Black Princesses coach begs government

Black Princesses coach, Yusif Basigi, has urged the government to provide contracts for national team coaches beyond just the Black Stars coach.

In an interview, Coach Basigi expressed that national team coaches are struggling and need government contracts.

He believes the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is not equipped to handle these contractual matters and that the government should take responsibility.

“When it comes to contract matters, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) cannot handle them,” the Hasaacas Ladies coach told Onua FM.

“If they are to enter contracts with coaches, it will be a worry. It is the government that must pay attention to us because the national team belongs to the government and the GFA is a caretaker. So, government should turn attention to us because we are suffering,” he added.

Basigi will lead the Black Princesses in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. Ghana is in Group E, alongside Japan, New Zealand, and Austria.

The team aims to advance past the group stage, a feat they have not achieved in six previous attempts.
