Vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has disclosed his outfit is enjoying a smooth relationship with Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah.

It is well known that the GFA and Member of Parliament for the people of Ododdiodio constituency, Hon Nii Lante Vanderpuye were not in good terms after he was appointed as the Youth and Sports Minister under the administration of the National Democratic Party which was led by John Dramani Mahama.

The former GBC worker asked the FA to justify why they should be paid winning bonus. He further cancelled the complementary tickets given to the members of the Association during FIFA sanctioned matches involving the Black Stars.

It will be recalled that the winning bonus of the Black Stars was slashed from $10.000 to $8000 urging the players to be patriotic enough to serve the nation.

This decision by the Nii Lante Vanderpuye didn't go down well with the FA.
There was several rebuttals between the Public Relations Officer of the FA, Ibrahim Sanni Darra and the former Sports Minister.

The president of the FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi in an interview with Starr FM branded the former Sports Minister as a serial sports caller.

However, George Afriyie says they are enjoying a smooth relationship under the auspices of Isaac Asiamah as the Youth and Sports Minister.

"We are enjoying a smooth relationship with Hon. Isaac Asiamah." He told Accra based Happy FM

"We had a bad relationship with Nii Lante Vanderpuye but we hope Hon. Isaac Asiamah continues like this because we need peace to run the association." He added.
