‘We haven’t suspended Ainooson’

The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has vehemently denied that, it has suspended strong and trusted defender, Abeiku Ainooson.

An online news outfit claims that Kotoko have suspended the Premier League and FA Cup’s best defender for the 2013/14 season.

Managers of the Asante Kotoko however insist that, the story is false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Acting General Manager, Opoku Nti told the Club’s official website that, it was completely outrageous for such falsehood to be put out about the player and Kotoko.

“I don’t know where that is coming from but we have been bombarded with telephone calls from supporters asking about Abeiku Ainooson and why we have suspended but we haven’t suspended” said a worried Opoku Nti.

“If we have done that, it would have been a different matter but in this case, we have not taken such an action. What has he done to demand a suspension,” asked Opoku Nti who advised Kotoko fans to dismiss that media report.

“Again, I say that the story is false. It is not true. Kotoko supporters should ignore that report. Abeiku Ainooson has been with the team in camp. He has been training and playing matches. We have not suspended him,” Opoku Nti stated.
