We’ll beat Ghana in front of their fans – Kalusha

Zambia FA president Kalusha Bwalya has warned Ghana that they will defeat the Black Stars in Kumasi when the two sides clash for a place in the 2014 World Cup qualifying playoffs in September.

The warning came after Ghana toppled Zambia in Group D of the qualifiers on Sunday when defeating Lesotho 2-0 in Maseru.

Zambia’s shock draw with Sudan on Saturday opened the door for Kwesi Appiah’s men to take full advantage by going one point clear in the group.

This means the Black Stars need only a draw when they host Zambia in Kumasi to seal the top spot and advance to the playoffs.

However, Kalusha says there is no need for Zambians to worry ahead of the match against Ghana. The Zambia FA chief says the Black Stars will fall in front of their fans in Kumasi in September.

“I am confident that we will go through to the next round. We will go to Ghana to beat them,” he said.

The 1988 African-footballer-of-the-year said everything is possible in football. The victory in Maseru takes the Black Stars to the summit of the Group D standing on 12 points, thus one point ahead of Zambia with a final fixture to come against the Chipolopolo later in September at home.
