We must learn from the draw at Selhurst Park - Andre Ayew

Ghana forward Andre Ayew insists West Ham United will learn from their mistakes after letting a two-goal lead slip through their hand at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Ayew netted a fabulous 20-yard strike to give his side a 2-0 lead at Selhurst Park before Palace fought back with Wilfred Zaha netting in the 96th minute to end the London derby 2-2.

Ayew says the 2-2 draw seems like a defeat to the Hammers though they have quickly forgotten about ut and are planning for the crucial encounter with Liverpool this weekend.

“It felt like a defeat,” he said. “We’re disappointed. It was a tough game, and it’s always difficult to hold to the end when you come out after half-time and concede a goal inside the first five minutes.” Ayew told his club’s official website

“They had opportunities, but we’re disappointed that it ended 2-2. We need to forget about the disappointment and correct what we did badly in the second half when we play Liverpool next week.

“We didn’t hold the ball as well as we did in the first half and that put our defenders under pressure the whole time. We’ll learn from that.

“The response to Brighton has been not bad, because of the victory we had at Wembley, but to be honest we should have left Crystal Palace with three points and had two wins in a row.”

The in form Ghanaian has now netted thrice in his last two games for West Ham.
