German club Schalke 04 are reportedly willing to let Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng sit out the remainder of his contract in the stands if no buyers come in for him.
The suspended midfielder has been the subject of a speculated move to AC Milan or Galatasaray, but a move has yet to come to fruition, which is surprising for a player of his quality.
The club is said to be willing to isolate him in the stands for the whole of next season even if it is not able to secure a buyer for the out-of-favour player, as they are well aware of the financial consequences of terminating his contract.
Boateng joined in Schalke in the summer of 2013 for around 10 million euros from AC Milan. His contract runs until 2016.
In May this year the club said of Boateng: "We have isolated him, because we feel that the relationship of trust no longer exists."
