Tema-based Inter Allies have commiserated with Kumasi Asante Kotoko after the club suffered an accident which claimed the life of one official.

The accident happened on Wednesday, 13 July, 2017 when Kotoko were returning to Kumasi after a league match with Inter Allies in which the Porcupine Warriors suffered a 0-1 defeat.

Inter Allies in a statement on its website said: “Everyone at Inter Allies is saddened to learn of Asante Kotoko’s accident. Our thoughts are with them & we share their pain. We wish them a speedy recovery and may God be with them.”

The assistant equipment officer of the club, Kofi Asare, has been confirmed dead.

The accident occurred around 9:45 pm at Nkawkaw when the bus ran into a stationary vehicle.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has described the accident as “devastating and sad”.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former President John Mahama, singer Stephanie Benson, actor John Dumelo, seasoned sports journalists, GPL clubs including Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars, and a host of Ghanaians have taken to social media to commiserate with the Porcupine Warriors.
