Former Black Stars player, John Paintsil, believes the love for the Ghana Premier League is back despite the poor performances from the traditional teams resulting in low attendance at the stadiums.
Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have underperformed in the past season, with the Phobians escaping relegation on the final day of the season while Asante Kotoko finished sixth.
But Paintsil believes the love for the league is gradually returning, looking at the number of foreign players coming into the league and the promise some youngsters have shown.
“The league is growing. We've seen fantastic showcases of players, new talented players showcasing their potential, new strikers coming and banging in a lot of goals, beautiful goals.
“So, I think with time, the Premier League that we know will come.
“Already, we have started seeing the love and we believe that the boys will also take instructions from their coaches and work according to their plans.”
