We want to help, but Kwame Kyei isn’t answering our calls - Kotoko fans

Kwame Kyei is reportedly not responding to calls by Kotoko fans Kwame Kyei is reportedly not responding to calls by Kotoko fans

The Asante Kotoko National Chapters Council (the main supporters group of the club) say efforts to reach out the club in these difficult times have proved futile because Exectuive Chairman, Kwame Kyei has refused to answer their calls.

The NCC say aside placing several calls they have made other attempts to engage Kwame Kyei personally, which have all been met with frustrations.

Asante Kotoko are currently racing against time to meet a deadline date of May 10, 2020, to pay $240,000 to Tunisian club Esperance Sportive de Tunis.

This is in relation to a ruling by FIFA which found Kotoko culpable of illegally registering Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Clottey in 2015 when he was on the books of Esperance.

Failure to make payment before the deadline will trigger several sanctions with some including demotion to the lower leagues from the top flight.

There have been calls for supporters of the club to initiate steps to help the management raise the required amount.

Speaking to the matter, the NCC P.R.O. Osei Owusu says all attempts to reach Kwame Kyei have failed hence their last resort of writing to management to work out a way to help.

He told Oyerepa FM, “We have being trying to get in touch with Dr Kwame Kyei but to no avail so have written to management on issues”.

“He’s not picking our calls and we have tried his office and house but to no avail.”

“We want to help management pay for the $240,000 so we want to meet him discuss how we can contribute”.

“We just looking for his approval”, he concluded.
