Former Asante Kotoko defender, Joseph Hendricks has dismissed reports suggesting that they were promised houses to win the 2004 Caf Confederation Cup against Hearts of Oak.

Joseph Hendricks was part of the Porcupine Warriors side that lost to the rivals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Hearts edged Kotoko 8-7 via the penalty shootout at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi after the two legs ended 1-1 in a final that gripped the entire nation.

"Who said we were promised houses in 2004 Caf Confederation cup final against the Phobians that person is a liar, I was the leader ( captain of the team) and we never discussed that with the management or promised from the management," he told Boss FM.

"I can claim emphatically that we weren't aware of any winning bonus before we played the first leg at Accra.

"I remember after the first leg the next day which was Monday, all the players assembled and complained we must know the winning bonus before return encounter in Kumasi," he added.
