We will fight all the way -Appiah

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is not oblivious of the task ahead of his team in Brazil, but insist the team will fight to the end.

The Black Stars faces a difficult job at qualifying to the next phase of the World Cup with a win against Portugal on Thursday not enough to guarantee passage.

He told GNA Sports " It is not going to be easy going forward. At the moment, we have got only a point and have just a game to make it count. It is really difficult to predict at this moment because at this stage, you can never tell."

A win against Portugal on Thursday will amount to nothing if Germany and the USA drew in the last Group G match, but Appiah insists "It is always good to look ahead to the next game and prepare for it."

He is confident the mental fortitude of his team will show. "I have total confidence in my team, I believe in my players. Ghanaians have a strong mentality. We always believe that we need to fight to the end.

"The confidence level of the players at this tournament looks great to me, and we could have proven that with a win by now but, unfortunately, we have only picked a point in two games but we will keep fighting."

Ghana were quarter-finalist at the last edition of the World Cup in South Africa.
