Former Hearts of Oak board member, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, has disclosed that the club will not adopt Asante Kotoko’s strategy of sacking their players en-masse.

Since the end of the 2023/24 season, Asante Kotoko has parted ways with 21 players, including captain Ibrahim Danlad and Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala.

Although Hearts of Oak is looking to revamp their squad after a disappointing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Frank Nelson maintained that the club will not indulge in mass contract terminations.

In an interview with ChannelOne TV, Frank Nelson said, “We don’t apply the same type of trade, even though we are in the same business; they have their reasons.”

He explained that the club would only conduct a study based on the report submitted by the coach to understand why they struggled last season.

“The important thing is that the management will sit down, and the technical department will submit the report, and they have to look at where our opportunities are, where our strengths are.”

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be hoping to have a good campaign next season after going trophyless for two seasons.
