West Ham await Swansea response after £20m Andre Ayew offer

West Ham are reported to be awaiting the response of Swansea City after they were said to have tabled £20m for their Ghanaian winger Andre Ayew.

A Skysports news report says the Swans have received the bid for the player who can also play as a striker and offensive midfielder.

But Hammers insiders claim the Welsh club have yet to respond to the offer tabled by their English Premier League rivals for the Ghana international.

Ayew, 26, was on the Hammers' transfer hitlist last summer but they failed to reach a deal on the terms of his personal demands.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele opted for Swansea on a free transfer deal and went on to excel in his first season by scoring 12 goals in his maiden appearance in the Premier League from midfield.

Hammers coach Slaven Bilic still remains keen on Ayew and has splashed the cash to hand Swansea an instant £20m profit over the transfer deal of Ayew.

But Swansea want more time to get in another striker before concluding the deal for Ayew and they are chasing strikers Fernando Llorente of Sevilla and Leicester City attacker Leonardo Ulloa.
