West Ham to pay £14m for Ayew

Andre Ayew Andre Ayew

West Ham United are ready to splash the cash to secure the services of Swansea City striker Andre Ayew, according to reports from the Daily Star

Swansea City have endured a terrible campaign so far and rather than challenging for Europe as expected, the Swans are instead battling against relegation this season.

There has understandably been very few positives for Swansea so far during the current campaign but one silver lining in the cloud for the Welsh side has been the fantastic form of striker Andrew Ayew.

Ayew joined Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille over the summer and the Ghanaian international has proven to be one of the signings of the season so far, scoring 8 goals as well as providing 4 assists in a team that has struggled badly.

Whether or not Swansea avoid relegation this season remains to be seen but many expect Ayew to be leaving the Liberty Stadium during the summer as a host of top clubs have expressed their interest in signing the 26-year old.

The likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have been mentioned as realistic destinations for Ayew but it can now be revealed that West Ham United are ramping up their pursuit to sign the striker.

West Ham are planning to make a couple of marquee signings ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium next season and Ayew is believed to be one of the targets for manager Slaven Bilic.

Now according to reports from the Daily Star, West Ham are already preparing a proposal to submit to Swansea for Ayew and the Hammers are said to be ready to splash as much as £14million to lure the former Marseille star away from the Liberty Stadium in the summer.
