Public Relations of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has asked the Ghana Football Association is what they are doing to promote the Ghana Premier League.
The league is set to start on February 20 but, with First Capital Plus Bank reneging their commitment with the FA, the league is likely to start without a headline sponsor.
Premier League clubs are worried with the lack of proactiveness from the FA to replace the financial institution, and Opare Addo says he is taken aback by the inaction on the part of the FA to generate more attention on the league to attract corporate bodies.
He also revealed that Accra Hearts of Oak are working around the clock to hype their matches.
“It has become a huge surprise to me that there is not a lot being done to promote the league. We, at Hearts of Oak, have our own strategy in place to hype our own matches but what of the other teams?” Opare Addo quizzed in an interview with Metro Television.
“What is the FA also doing? The league is its brand and so, they should be able to market it as well so that when the clubs add a little effort, the result will be very appreciated by all.” He added.
Hearts of Oak start their league campaign against New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium on February 20.
